Search With a Local Focus

The Local Search Revolution, From Offline to Online

From print Yellow Pages advertising to comprehensive, local search marketing strategies, we’ve come a long way. In 1967, our agency was the first to recognize the lead-generation potential of print Yellow Pages advertising. Since then, it has become an obsession.

  • Today

TMP Directional Marketing is a leading provider of online, offline, and mobile search solutions.

We were the first to develop:

  • Strategic marketing plans in the 1970s.
  • Mapping services and technology in the 1980s.
  • Interactive local search advertising solutions in 1996, due to our affiliation with Monster Worldwide, or Monster.com (a sibling division at the time).

Over the years, we have innovated the search marketing industry by understanding the ins and outs of how consumers search globally but shop locally for their favorite brands. That’s why we combine the advantages of national scope and the personalization of local perspective to shape our marketing solutions. Put simply, we are more than a print Yellow Pages agency.

Our innovative Internet and local search marketing capabilities were developed prior to the inception of online Yellow Pages advertising and long before the first local search advertising agency was even a thought in a CEO’s mind. In 1996, online marketing was primarily links on home pages, but we began building for our national clients websites and interactive, cross-channel marketing strategies that drove local business traffic.

As the millennium turned, we acquired New York-based IN2, a premier online search agency with proprietary ClickMaps technology. Then, we hired the team that developed SEO for the Monster network of properties. In 2005, we spun out of Monster Worldwide to become an independent marketing firm and the world’s largest local search marketing agency, with offices in 15 cities throughout the United States and Canada.

In 2009, we formed a stand-alone, interactive division — 15miles — to address our clients’ growing need to develop a search presence within the digital marketplace through innovative online and mobile solutions. Today, TMPDM and 15miles work together to generate sales leads for nearly one thousand clients by integrating offline, online and mobile marketing solutions into cross-channel marketing strategies.

Our client base consists of national advertisers, including approximately 20 percent of Fortune 500 companies. We place these national brands in front of local consumers through print and online Yellow Pages advertising and interactive search engine marketing, including mobile and pay-per-click advertising, organic search engine optimization and social media marketing.
